*This role will conduct HR activities for Showcase Window and Door and Hayfield Window and Door- both companies work under OpenView Products.
Summary: The Showcase Window and Door Resource Generalist is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with the HR Showcase Window and Door HR Manager. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: payroll processing, benefits administration, policy implementation, recruiting, onboarding, leave of absence administration, employee relations and maintaining the Showcase Window and Door Resource Information System (HRIS). This role will manage both Hayfield Window and Door and Showcase Window and Door benefits.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Payroll:
- Showcase Window and Door pre-transmit payroll activities such as: ensuring all PTO time is entered in the system and approved, compensation or deduction changes are updated, garnishments are entered, and open benefit enrollments are approved.
- Successfully process weekly payroll. This includes coordinating payroll related activities with the Accounting Supervisor and resolving payroll concerns from employees (401k, social security, benefits, standard taxes, and other deductions). Validate confirmed reports to ensure that payroll is processed as intended.
- Consistently review, update and maintain payroll best practices to improve efficiency for payroll and HRIS processes.
- Evaluate and implement payroll/HRIS systems upgrades and changes as required.
Recruitment, Onboarding, and Employee Relations:
- Partner with the HR Manager of Showcase Window to discuss Showcase Window and Door staffing needs and perform first level recruitment activities such as review resumes of posted positions, screen and source qualified talent, and learn where Showcase Window and Door sourcing is most/least effective. Schedule interviews between the candidates and the interviewing team and assist hiring Showcase Window in the selection of qualified candidates.
- Administer background checks and drug screens for new hires. Coordinate efforts with the HR team, hiring Showcase Window, and various departments to ensure a positive onboarding experience for Showcase Window and Door employees.
- Presents new-hire orientation and benefits presentation to employees so they gain a full understanding of benefit plans, enrollment provisions, and company policies. Communicate with new employees and new hires of Showcase Window on the completion of important onboarding tasks.
- Maintain knowledge of personnel changes (promotions, terminations, new-hires, etc.) and ensure that the appropriate systems are updated so that employees are paid properly and data can be easily accessed by the HR team.
- Address baseline employee relations concerns and properly elevate more serious matters to the HR Showcase Window and Door as needed.

- In partnership with the designated benefit broker, ensure that all required compliance filings and reporting’s are completed timely.
- Partner with the Human Resource Manager of Showcase Window to ensure the successful execution of the annual open enrollment process that includes being a subject matter expert in Showcase Window and Door’s benefits offerings, executing valuable and enjoyable wellness initiatives, and effectively communicating wellness activities to the employee population on a regular basis.
- Resolve first level benefits coverage concerns of employees and answer general questions that arise throughout the year.
- Together with the HR Manager, plan ongoing communications and trainings related to all benefit programs. Ensure that these activities are provided in a timely manner and well received by employees.
HRIS and Administration:
- Ensure that HR electronic data is entered accurately in various systems (Paylocity and MS Excel). Proactively obtain and maintain the integrity of all HR data – electronic or otherwise – as it frequently changes due to hiring, terminations, promotions, transfers, etc.
- Provide data that is requested by senior leadership in the company as requested. Ensure delivery of requested data is accurate, timely, and appropriate for the audience.
- Ensure complete confidentiality with employee personnel and payroll data.
- Process all US HR related invoices and effectively work with AP to resolve invoice discrepancies to prevent the delay of payment to Showcase Window and Door and Hayfield Window and Door vendors.
- Create and maintain all electronic employee personnel files and ensure timely updates upon termination. Ensure that all files contain the appropriate documents and are well-ordered for easy access and audit preparation.
- Develops and maintains the affirmative action program; files the EEO-1 report annually; and maintains other records, reports and logs to ensure compliance with EEO
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Bilingual Required (Spanish)
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- Experience in an HR Generalist role, overseeing comprehensive HR services for an employee population of 150 or more.
- Bachelor’s degree in business or human Resources with minimum of 3 year of experience
- SHRM-CP a plus.
- Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
- Above average communication skills – both written and verbal. Good presentation skills
- Must be able to maintain effective relationships with all levels of associates, including upper management.
- Must have a sense of urgency, patience, and ability to follow and close all HR matters in a timely manner.
- Must be able to be fair and consistent in all HR practices.
- Must be able to work in collaboration, be positive and always represent a professional image.
- Significant organizational skills & time management skills
- Must be able to think independently as well as work in partnership with HR Manager.
- Knowledge, skills, and ability to operate computer programs as needed (Microsoft Office Suite programs)
