This is a perfect position for a newer salesperson or a candidate looking to build upon their sales and customer relations experience! Get paid to drive the tri-state area, mostly to existing clients (90%), with some new business development (10%). Solid responsibility paired with great experience – and a proven industry leader who has proudly been operating in the area for 25+ years. This position is supported by other sales and marketing positions, doesn’t require a lot of experience to get started, and has a 3-month training period. Vehicle is required – company vehicle available after first year.

Job Overview:
We are looking to add a Route Salesperson to our Sales Department. In this role, you will work closely with leadership to identify business opportunities with existing and new clients. The daily responsibilities of the Route Salesperson include traveling to existing clients in the tri-state area by vehicle, initiating contact with new clients, and nurturing business relationships. This position requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of our product offering, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, target-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engage with new and existing clients through phone calls, emails, and in-person to assess their business needs and interest level.
- Proactively research and identify potential customers who would benefit from our product.
- Identify new ways of reaching prospects to build opportunities.
- Utilize various sources such as online research, social media, industry events, and inbound inquiries to generate a pipeline of leads.
- Clearly and effectively communicate the value of our products to clients.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with leads and prospects over time.
- Collaborate closely with the sales team, sharing insights and feedback from interactions to help refine sales strategies and improve overall conversion rates.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of activities, opportunities, and account information.
- Stay up to date with industry trends, market conditions, and competitor offerings.
Qualifications:
- A strong business acumen.
- A willingness to assist customers with a positive attitude.
- Sales background or Bachelor’s in Sales/Marketing/Business is preferred but not required.
- Self-organized and goal-oriented.
- Understanding the food distribution industry is helpful.
- Must have a driver’s license and a car that meets company standards.
- Must also be willing to travel outside the territory if required, typically once a quarter.
- Japanese, Chinese, or Korean language skills are preferred (but not required) as this is the industry space the salesperson will work within.

A Japanese food distributor in NY that was established in 1970. We supply fresh Japanese vegetables, fish, wagyu(beef), and other groceries across the eastern seaboard!
