Job Summary (Essential Functions)
To prepare quality food as assigned by Executive Chef and/or Sous Chef for our Glendorn guest utilizing fresh ingredients, recipes and proper sanitation and cooking methods. Maintains a safe, sanitary, organized workstation. Properly cleans and stores Lodge equipment.
Responsibilities:
- Treat guests respectfully and engage them in conversation to maximize the guest experience.
- Embrace teamwork with restaurant, events, property and front of house associates to create a positive work environment.
- Properly set-up station and execute food in accordance to Lodge standards.
- Properly follow and execute all recipes and production according to Lodge standards in a timely manner.
- Prepares meats, seafood, vegetables and other items required for line and special function purposes.
- Assists with preparation of other food products on serving line as needed.
- Execute food production organized and plating according to specifications and timing.
- Uses food preparation equipment according to manufacturers’ instructions. Follow all safety procedures.
- Ensure the highest level of cleanliness and organization are maintained in the kitchen and work station.
- Properly date, wrap, rotate and store all food product. Returns unused food products to proper storage areas.
- Consistently uses safe and sanitary food handling practices including those related to personal hygiene.
- Returns soiled food preparation utensils and other small wares to the proper areas.
- Notifies Sous Chef when running low on product.
- Alert Executive Chef for maintenance, repair and upkeep of the equipment needs.
- Attends kitchen staff meetings.
- Completes other appropriate tasks as assigned by the Sous Chef or Lodge management.
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Stand for long periods of time in a hot environment.
- Physical stamina and dexterity, with ability to lift 50 pounds.
- Able to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends and holidays.
