Our lasers are changing not only the way things are made, but also changing the things that can be made.Headquartered in Camas, Washington, nLIGHT is a publicly listed company (NASDAQ: LASR).nLIGHT is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to develop and lead the logistic and warehouse team through dynamic change as nLIGHT’s business grows. This role will ensure the department’s daily, monthly goals and key success indicators are achieved with a focus on continuous improvement through Lean principles. Works closely with manufacturing, operations, engineering, and planning departments to ensure that all company goals and revenue targets are met and not constrained by logistics. This position is based at our headquarters in Camas, WA; however, covers all nLIGHT domestic locations.Responsibilities

  • Ensures safe work environment for all employees; reinforces safety culture, supports incident investigations, and participates in ergonomic evaluations.
  • Provides leadership through effective communication, coaching, training, and development.
  • Responsible for employee performance management; motivates and facilitates continuous learning and development, conducts annual performance appraisals, and provides timely feedback and recognition.
  • Monitors and approves employee time and attendance records in compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws.
  • Designs, develops, and implements best practices in support of the corporate warehousing, inventory management and overall logistics strategy for the company including critical success indicators and reporting.
  • Develop and effectively manage all shipping processes, including internal, domestic, and international (in bound and out bound) including customs, duties (including drawbacks), tariffs, inland charges, bonded locations as well as Government Regulations and nLIGHT Policy.
  • Responsible for all incoming receiving and inventory distribution to production areas as required, always ensuring inventory accuracy through auditing, cycle counting, and physical inventory.
  • Handles all carrier activity for freight movement (in bound and out bound) ensuring all shipping documentation is correct, accurate and in accordance with policy.
  • Owns carrier contract and rate negotiations, transportation costs and any required response or follow up for issue resolution.
  • Helps develop and deploy continuous improvement strategies in Logistics, responsible for optimizing processes, improving efficiency, reducing costs, and implementing continuous improvement methodologies in the area.
  • Consolidates weekly and monthly metrics for report out to senior management.
  • Maintains Work Instructions for the activities of the department including ongoing training of all personnel.
  • Provide support to all nLight internal customers including manufacturing, engineering, quality, product development, etc. as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain management, logistics, related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • 5+ years proven successful Logistics and Warehousing experience.
  • 2+ years of supervisor experience.
  • Strong Excel, Word and PowerPoint skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills and a team player.
  • Ability to define, develop and implement improvement strategies for both people and key logistics processes and material movement.
  • Strong knowledge of inventory control systems such as cycle counting and physical inventory count.
  • Experience working with International Partners/Suppliers and Carriers and a strong understanding of customs requirements is required.
  • Ability to effectively interface with all key stakeholders and represent nLight with external partners such as carriers’ suppliers and customs brokers.
  • Must have experience and working knowledge of ERP/MRP system-based management. Microsoft D365 is the current system.
  • Ability to effectively lead and grow local and remote staff and be a key partner to other business groups.
  • Able to sit and work at computer for long periods of time.
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time.
  • Forklift and/or Material Handling equipment experience is a plus.
  • Demonstrated ability to protect confidential and proprietary information, exercise discretion, and set professional boundaries.

nLIGHT is proud to offer comprehensive COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:Starting pay depends on qualifications:

  • Logistics Manager: $90,000 – $119,000
