- The Lopchuk lab is grounded in synthetic organic chemistry but operates in a highly collaborative environment within the Department of Drug Discovery and the Molecular Medicine Program.
- The outstanding research environment includes a new dedicated research building, state-of-the-art cores (for example: chemical biology, flow cytometry, microarray, proteomics, microscopy) and animal facilities as well as access to clinical material.
- The Center houses excellent NMR and mass spectrometry instruments as well as excellent equipment for parallel synthesis and purification.
The Ideal Candidate:
- Applicants must have a Ph.D. in organic or medicinal chemistry by their start date.
- The successful applicant will have extensive experience in small molecule synthetic organic chemistry (methodology, total synthesis and/or medicinal chemistry), a demonstrated track record of independent research, and the desire to work in a highly collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- This position will focus on the synthesis on novel small molecule therapeutics in a highly collaborative NCI-funded research program.
- The successful candidate will also have an opportunity to work on a variety of ongoing projects in the lab including the development of novel methods for CâC, CâN, and CâS bond formation.
- The successful candidate for this position will focus on developing new reactions with applications to the synthesis of pharmaceuticals.
Credentials and Qualifications:
- MD or PhD in Organic or Medicinal Chemistry or related field
- Should have at least one first Author publication.
