Our team solves tough, meaningful problems that create a safer, more secure world.Raytheon Technologies (RTX) Software Infrastructure (SWI) Team has an immediate need for a Team Lead / Section Manager to lead a multi-faceted Infrastructure team supporting our project Modernization teams.The Section Manager is a working lead; where they will be hands on to support program development and sustainment activities within a Linux based compute environment, as well as lead a team of professionals of 15-20 Systems and Software Engineers. These teams will support a variety of Program development and sustainment tasks ranging from Linux Systems Administration, DevOps/DevSecOps, Network Design, COTS integration, or Cyber vulnerability remediation as well as related system configuration and documentation tasks.In addition to the Team Lead’s Program duties, The Section Manager is responsible for the performance and career development of all the members of their section, providing open and honest feedback to team members; developing talent and ensuring adequate resources to meet skill set demands of the organization’s needs.The Section Manager is also responsible for reporting cost, schedule, and performance of the teams program activities and may provide technical briefs to senior leadership as required. The ideal candidate should be a highly motivated “self-starter” able to lead by example, and possess strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.What You Will Do
- You will support Program activities with the development of products in a Linux based environment
- You will have direct Functional Management responsibilities for employees in your section, including annual performance goals, career development
- You will coordinate staff to meet the needs of the organization’s staffing/training/development plans
- You will provide guidance to your team members and flow communicate team performance metrics between the program and Functional Engineering Leadership teams
- You will Work closely with your program managers to ensure customer satisfaction for the products your team develops
- You will Participate in proposal processes as necessary to develop and review cost estimates/proposals packages for your team and present this data to Sr. Leadership
Qualifications You Must Have
- Ability to obtain a U.S. government DOD – Secret issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance
- Typically requires BS/BA Degree in Science, Technology Engineering Math (STEM) in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or Physics and 8+ years of related work experience
- Experience with Agile Development Methodologies (E.g. scrum, SAFe)
- Experience with programming languages (E.g. Python, Java, Ruby, Bash, C++, C#, Go)
- Experience with program cost and schedule monitoring and reporting
Qualifications We Prefer
- Administrative fluency with the following (or vendor equivalent): Red Hat Enterprise Linux and VMWare solutions
- Demonstrated Interpersonal Skills with Teams and Leadership
- Extensive Linux development experience (RHEL 6+)
- EVMS Certified and professional exposure to EVMS or similar budget tracking system
- Basis of Estimates (BOE) Trained / certified
- Experience as an IPT, CPT Lead
- Very strong organizational and team development skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Experience developing and managing product line artifacts
- Experience with VMware
- General / Notional Experience in Networks; SAN/NAS designs and implementation
- Experience with the Agile development lifecycle
- 6+ years’ experience in Task Management or other Lead role on Medium-Large Development projects

The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
