Location: Chicago, Illinois or Richardson, Texas || Hybrid || Contract to hire (with an initial 3-6 month contract)
Join our Enterprise Architecture Services team and lead the definition and implementation of systems architecture for our Claims technology portfolio. You will translate business requirements into specific system designs for large and complex IT solutions. As an Application Architect, you will collaborate with analysts, developers, and business stakeholders to guide and design the architecture of multiple applications in the Claims domain. This role requires a solid background in Systems Analysis and Development using Java and Spring Boot for microservices-based systems. Successful candidates are respected leaders with excellent communication skills and a focus on long-term results.
Job Duties:
- Serve as a technical designer to identify the best solution within coding constraints
- Design enhancements for Claims applications/systems based on technical and business requirements
- Bridge the gap between Business Analyst needs and Architect definitions
- Act as a domain expert for multiple applications
- Collaborate with Scrum teams for story elaboration
Requirements:
- Completion of I-9, verifying US Citizenship
- 10+ years of diverse technical experience, including 4 years in application architecture
- Proficiency in Java and other programming languages, web, internet, and mobile technologies
- Expertise in application architecture principles, Object-Oriented Design, and UML
- Experience in solution architecture for complex business problems, considering risks and costs
- Knowledge of enterprise integration patterns (SOA, API’s, microservices, etc.) using Java, Spring Boot, Spring Batch, MuleSoft, and IBM Message Queue (MQ)
- Experience with data integration using SQL, NoSQL, DB2, and SQL Server
- Familiarity with Pivotal Cloud Foundry (PCF)
- Understanding of security controls and their relation to system architecture
- Proficient in Agile/Scrum methodologies and tools like Jira
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to mentor others
- Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills
Desired Skills & Experience:
- Previous experience in Healthcare and Claims systems architecture
- Familiarity with additional tools such as Talend, ForgeRock, Jenkins, UCD, Github, Maven, ELK Stack, Dynatrace, Angular
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment and meet tight deadlines
- Strong conceptual and creative thinking skills
- Ability to multitask and manage time effectively
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
- Strong oral and written communication skills with solid interpersonal skills
- Creative problem-solving approach to technical challenges.
