Job Description
Server Duties and Responsibilities
- Greet tables promptly
- Answer questions about menu items
- Accurately take customer orders
- Facilitate filling drink orders with the bar
- Gracefully suggest/upsell additional menu items, such as desserts and drinks
- Offer prompt and excellent customer service
- Memorize the menu for on-demand recitation and questions about ingredients
- Use the POS system to accurately calculate the patron’s bill and input food orders efficiently.
- Complete sidework and cleaning duties
- Closeout all checks at the end of every shift
Bartender Duties and Responsibilities
Bartenders work directly with customers by mixing and serving drink orders. Their responsibilities include verifying age requirements, knowing alcohol pairing and tastes, knowing how to make traditional and classy drinks, processing payments, managing inventory and cleaning bar area and bar supplies.
Server/Bartender Requirements and Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- 1+ years wait staff and/or bar experience preferred
- Basic math skills
- Willingness to work weekends and evenings
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
- Familiarity with restaurant POS software a plus
- Ability to thrive in an active, noisy, and demanding environment
