As we continue growing, we will continue offering the best and most-affordable vacation options out there!Job DescriptionThe Head Carpenter is the Crew Chief and supervisor for every other Department Head and their departments except for the Wardrobe Department. As such, the responsibility and accountability for all stage operations .An excellent working knowledge of fly rail systems and rigging is imperative. A good working knowledge of audio and electrical systems is needed. The ability to read blueprints and stage plots is necessary. The layout and construction of show elements is required. The ability to design and fabricate scenic elements and props out of steel, wood, and other materials is required. The ability and proper use of hand tools and power tools is required. The ability to weld is beneficial. Painting and maintaining several parts of the showroom is part of this job. Problem solving skills are paramount in this position.QualificationsRole and Responsibilities: (Includes but is not limited to the following) * Must be a self-starter
- 10+ years of experience in the industry
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to provide direction and complete tasks efficiently and within the time prescribed.
- Must be physically able to climb stairs, and carry and lift up to 60 pounds.
- Have stage, lighting, audio and video skills, and knowledge of lounge and stage production.
- Have a good attitude and work well with others. Good hygiene/grooming and practice good customer service.
- Ability to work any hours particularly nights and weekends.
- Available for work with an 8 hour notice.
- Be a referent with IATSE Local 720 hiring hall.
Performance Requirements: (Knowledge, skills and abilities)Requires reading and math skill for plans and measurements. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. . Knowledge of stage direction & operations & production. Communicate with supervisor throughout the shift. Remain calm and alert, especially during emergency situations and/or heavy hotel activity. Make decisions and take action based on previous experience & judgment, sometimes revising procedures to accommodate unusual situations. Check station before, during and after shift for proper set-up and cleanliness. Ability to maintain attendance in conformance with standards. Ability to maintain a neat, clean and well-groomed appearance.Experience Requirements10 years minimum experience within the trade and entertainment industry performing duties as a Head Stage Carpenter and/or Stage TechnicianEducation RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GEDDesirables: [Be registered as a referent with IATSE Local 720 and listed on the A-list within the Union’s referral-hiring hall (dispatch)system
