Job Description
THE POSITION:
The corporate tax accountant assists the Senior Tax Manager in fulfilling the responsibilities of the ASEA tax function. These functions include tax planning, tax accounting and reporting, compliance, and audit defense. The successful candidate will have knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the tax accounting field and also have an overall understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This position offers an exciting opportunity to work extensively on domestic and international tax issues that support the tax function for a growing multinational company.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain tax records and oversee the preparation of sales tax returns, VAT/GST returns, related schedules and reports.
- Prepare paperwork for local, state, and federal tax returns.
- Partner with the finance team in the reconciliation of tax accounts.
- Support the international tax function for all of ASEA’s international subsidiary companies.
- Assist the tax department in the tax planning and audit defense functions as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:
- BS/BA degree in accounting.
- 1-3 years’ experience in public or corporate tax accounting.
- International accounting experience preferred.
- A strong desire to learn and a teachable attitude.
- Ability to work both independently and with team members with minimal supervision.
- Ability to work well and communicate effectively with third party accounting professionals.
- Experience with the tax filing process.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
- Familiarity with the internal revenue code and other tax research resources a plus.
