Team Description:
The AI Foundations team is at the forefront of bringing our AI vision to life at Capital One. We collaborate with academia, build production systems, and apply cutting-edge AI technology to our business. As an individual contributor in this role, you will drive strategic direction through collaboration with Applied Science, Engineering, and Product leaders across the company.
Key Responsibilities:
– Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that transform how customers interact with their finances.
– Use various technologies, such as Pytorch, AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, and more, to uncover insights from large amounts of data.
– Develop AI foundation models throughout the development process, from design to implementation.
– Engage in high-impact applied research to enhance customer experiences with the latest AI advancements.
– Translate the complexity of your work into tangible business goals using strong interpersonal skills.
The Ideal Candidate:
– Passionate about making the right decisions for customers and doing the right thing.
– Innovative mindset with strong research skills and staying updated on emerging technologies.
– Thrives on solving complex problems and is not afraid to share new ideas.
– A leader who challenges status quo and supports talent development.
– Technical proficiency in open-source languages and experience in developing AI models using open-source tools and cloud computing platforms.
– Deep understanding of AI methodologies and experience building large-scale deep learning models.
– Strong engineering mindset and experience delivering models at scale.
– Track record of developing new ideas or improving existing ones in machine learning.
Qualifications:
– PhD with at least 4 years of experience in Applied Research or Master’s degree with at least 6 years of experience in Applied Research.
