ColonialWebb is seeking an experienced Human Resources professional for the position of HR Business Partner. The HRBP serves as a consultant to operations leaders, frontline supervisors, and teammates providing HR advice, strategic and operational support, and delivering HR solutions to advance the talent development needs and the employee experience of our people. Join us!Location:This position is based out of our Richmond, Virginia office and supports our Manufacturing plant operations and our Building Services businesses in Richmond, Charlottesville, Chantilly, and Glen Burney, MD.

  • The primary work location is our office in Henrico County.
  • Must be able to commute to our Richmond area Manufacturing shop (about a mile from our office).
  • Must be able to occasionally travel/visit our offices in Charlottesville, Chantilly, and Glen Burnie, MD, and other CW offices or customer locations where work is being performed.
  • Most duties/support to businesses outside of Richmond can be performed from our Richmond office, but travel to those offices/regions is required a handful of times each quarter, as necessary depending on the situation.
  • This is not a work from home position.

What you will do: * Be a leadership partner: Understand and collaborate with operational leaders to support the strategic direction and talent goals of the business. Coach, counsel and maintain strong working relationships with managers and frontline supervisors. Prioritize the talent needs of our people and develop retention strategies, such as career development opportunities, succession planning, competitive compensation and benefits, and employee engagement initiatives.

  • Support and drive a “people first” employee experience: Understand the employee perspective through regular conversations, presence on sites, exit interviews, and other touchpoints and feedback. Be a voice for all and communicate concerns and trends to leadership. Support engagement survey initiatives and collaborate with leaders to increase participation, understand, and share results, and act on feedback.
  • Analyze and use data and key talent metrics to identify talent risk and to improve the employee experience, bringing attention to areas of concern and providing practical solutions.
  • Collaborate with leaders to enhance our brand in the local market, attract workers, and learn from best practices.
  • Collaborate with managers and employees to resolve and prevent conflict, promote positive employee relationships, maintain a positive work environment, boost morale, reduce turnover, and support inclusive and diverse teams.
  • Serve as primary HR liaison and consultant to specific business lines, maintaining visible presence in the business by joining team meetings, visiting jobsites, and regular one-on-one meetings with department managers.
  • Support onboarding and coaching of new employees and supervisors (hires, promotions, and internal transfers).
  • Audit and analyze internal compensation and benefits to ensure market competitiveness and internal equity.
  • Engage in the interactive dialogue process for accommodations, provide policy guidance and much more.

What we are looking for:Experience & Education Requirements * Strong HR work experience commensurate to perform the essential functions independently (this is not an entry level position).

  • Strong understanding of applicable HR-related federal, state, local regulations, and HR functions (i.e., talent management, development, engagement, employee relations, compliance, etc.).
  • Bachelor’s degree in an applicable field of study (preferred, but not required)
  • Industry experience for a contractor (building service, manufacturing, construction) is preferred, but not required.
  • Bilingual fluency (English and Spanish languages) is nice-to have, but not required.
