Job Title: Human Resources Intern
FLSA Status: Non-Exempt, Paid
Reports To: Human Resources Specialist
Location: Green Bay Support Office – 1724 Lawrence Drive, De Pere WI 54115
Festival Foods is growing and has an opportunity for an enthusiastic, results-driven individual to apply their HR interests and/or knowledge to make an immediate impact on our growing organization! Under the direction, guidance, and support of the HR Team, the Human Resources Intern will support the recruitment, staffing, onboarding, orientation and launch of an upcoming new store. Gain valuable experience in a variety of Human Resource functions!
The Human Resources Intern will be intricately involved in all aspects of recruiting and onboarding new associates to our new store locations, while simultaneously ensuring all new store HR functions, programs and supplies are prepared and executed for store open.
Job Description
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: The “Day to Day”
- Source, attract, find, review and phone interview great talent to join the growing Festival Foods team
- Assist in posting positions to the Festival Careers website and other recruitment sources; update and maintain postings to attract and source applicants
- Organize and execute candidate interview scheduling utilizing Olivia, ensuring a Festival brand experience for all potential candidates and hiring managers
- Assist in the organization and execution of offsite mass hire and orientation events for new store openings, ensuring a Festival brand experience for candidates and new associates alike
- Complete I9 verifications and process all new hire paperwork precisely to ensure all steps are complete
- Coordinate new store HR supplies, equipment, and materials for store open, ensuring that associates can feel welcome throughout training and store launch
- Develop relationship with new store HR manager and leaders to ensure timely communication during all steps prior to store opening.
- Utilize Applicant Tracking System and HRIS system to ensure applicants and new hires are completing relevant tasks and all new hire information is up to date in their employee profile
- Provide on-site support in new store as needed
- Communicate directly with applicants and newly hired associates
- Regular, timely attendance in compliance with the work schedule, and adequate notice to find a replacement for occasional absences
- Other duties as assigned
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACT
Supervisory Relationships:
- Directly reports to the Human Resources Specialist, indirect reporting relationship to Recruiting team
Organization Relationships:
- Frequent contact with all Human Resource associates to provide administrative support, gain information, work on joint projects, and utilize expertise.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Eagerness to learn and share new ideas is required
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with leaders and all associates
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Ability to professionally represent Festival Foods via phone and in person
- Project management concepts and organization skills are strongly preferred
- Critical Thinking; using logic and reasoning to identify and rectify potential issues
- Demonstrated knowledge of basic computer programs (Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.)
- Excellent Time Management skills; ability to manage one’s own time effectively to meet required deadlines
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Sitting/Standing at a computer 75% of the time
- Professional presence and proper phone etiquette is required
- Travel to Chippewa Falls for new store hiring events, orientation, and HR support as applicable
