Computer Information Systems is part of CSU Pueblo, Malik and Seeme Hasan School of Business (HSB). The school offers a BS in Computer Information Systems, a BSBA in Management with an IT emphasis and a joint BS-CIS/MBA 3 plus 2 program. The CIS program is supported by six full-time faculty members. Program details are available at:The mission of the Hasan School of Business at Colorado State University-Pueblo is “We transform students, innovate in teaching, conduct ourselves with professionalism, and engage with and positively impact our stakeholders.”The Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business accredits the Hasan School of Business. The School enrolls over 600 students in its undergraduate programs (with the largest major in business management) and about 100 students in its MBA program. The MBA program is designed to meet the educational needs of working professionals in southeastern Colorado. The School is housed in a modern building and includes 22 full-time tenure/tenure-track faculty members.
This is a one-year, renewable, nine-month position (with summer teaching and related compensation often available) at the Sturm Collaboration Campus in Castle Rock, CO. The CIS Lecturer will have defined responsibilities in teaching, program coordination, advising and service. Courses to be taught may include one or more of the following: Client-side and Server- side Web Development, Mobile Application Development, Linux and Windows Server Administration, Database Management Systems, and may include other essential courses in Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity.Primary Duties

  • Teaches undergraduate and graduate (CIS) courses in accordance with program needs. Prepares and presents course materials; administers appropriate tests; evaluates student outcomes; selects texts; prepares, administers and grades assignments; and assigns final grades. Participates in proposing curriculum changes and program modifications. Course load is anticipated to be three courses per Fall and Spring semester.
  • Participates in program coordination, student advising and service activities at the Sturm Collaboration Campus. Works with faculty and staff members from Arapahoe Community College and the CSU System Engagement office in Castle Rock to promote HSB programs and recruit new students from area High Schools and the regional community. Serves as an on-site program liaison for HSB programs at Sturm to answer questions and address ongoing concerns.

Salary Range:
$70,000 – $80,000 per nine-month academic year. Additional compensation may be available for summer teaching.*This is an in-person position based at the CSU Sturm Campus in Castle Rock, Colorado*Minimum Qualifications

  • Master in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science/Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Ability to teach a variety of courses: Client-side and Server- side Web Development, Mobile Application Development, Linux and Windows Server Administration, Database Management Systems; may include other essential courses in Computer Information Systems and Cybersecurity
  • Commitment to working with diverse student populations and commitment to equity in education at all levels

Preferred Qualifications

  • Doctorate or ABD in Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Computer Science/Computer Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Industry Certifications in CIS content areas such as Network Security, MCSA, etc.
  • Two years significant IT work experience
