We are searching for a Graphic Design Team Lead.
Reporting to the Creative Director, Corporate Marketing , Graphic Design Team Lead will be responsible for the development and execution of creative concepts to support our global financial services brands. This individual must possess a deep understanding of branding and creative strategy with core strengths in design and communications. The Design Team Lead will play an active role in partnering with cross-functional teams to deliver fresh and innovative creative solutions, from concept to completion. Additional responsibilities include providing direction, management, and leadership to a team of designers.
The key responsibilities of the role include:
· Lead and direct design team comprised of graphic and production designers including performance management process, training and development.
· Conceptualize, develop and manage “best in class” creative solutions for a variety of media.
· Partner with UXUI lead and development teams to create best-in-class digital experiences across NorthernTrust.com including campaign landing pages, thought-leadership pages and other high-impact experiences for the brand.
· Apply and extend brand identity systems, typography, photography, color, tone of voice and other ingredients appropriately to create innovative visual solutions that meet business and project needs.
· Provide leadership and guidance to team, fostering an environment that encourages employee participation, teamwork and communication.
· Work within the constraints of a budget and within tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
· Lead creative input sessions, internal client presentations, status updates and other meetings needed to support projects.
· Assign, review and directs work of design project teams, taking quality of design and adherence to stakeholders’ goals into account. Provide quality assurance of all creative deliverables.
· Manage relationships with external suppliers and vendors as needed to ensure quality and timely graphics services.
Skills/ Qualifications:
The successful candidate will benefit from having:
- 5-7 years of design experience in a corporate environment or for an agency along with a Bachelor’s degree (BA/BFA) from a four-year accredited college or university in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Multimedia Design or related field is highly preferred.
- Creative leadership capabilities, team mentoring, agency and vendor management, and matrixed team management experience.
- Proficiency must be demonstrated through a strong design/creative portfolio. Ability to multi-task and work efficiently under pressure with careful attention to detail is essential.
- In-depth Functional/Industry Knowledge is required. Knowledge of graphics design and current technology usually acquired through formal education is required when producing and reviewing projects.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills are required especially when communicating creative concepts.
- Technical skills/systems knowledge (Microsoft Office, art creation software such as Figma, Adobe Creative Suite, especially in InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop) Working experience in Adobe Experience Manager or similar CMS, and HMTL5 is required.
