Through our we reward our highest performing teachers with yearly stipends, differentiated development and coaching, and unique opportunities to flex their influence.YES Prep is also a TEA approved district. Teachers in eligible courses can earn up to an additional $32,000 a year based on their performance on our Instructional Excellence Rubric and student growth for 5 years if they remain in the classroom.This means that based on our teacher salary scale, upon their 3rd year in a role, teacher in an eligible course with the following years of experience:1 year of experience: $93,0005 years of experience: $96,00010 years of experience: $99,00015 years of experience: $101,500THE ROLEAs a Teacher, some of the work and responsibilities will include:Developing rigorous lessons in your specific content area, in 1:1 blended learning environments, in order to reignite your students for college and beyond while bridging gaps for marginalized communitiesSetting ambitious goals with your students and monitoring their progress while encouraging them through frequent and persistent feedbackTracking student growth and using data and feedback from coaches to create student growth plans when needed for student achievement concernsBuilding transformable relationships with students and families by providing regular, and consistent, communication with parents via phone or video conference, email, or district-approved websiteCreating a physical or virtual classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of studentsCollaborating with co-planner to work through daily lesson plans and add resources when needed to fit students’ needs.Meeting regular deadlines for daily lesson plans, submitting grades, and work samplesWorking on a team of teachers and leaders to provide consistency, support, and accountability to all studentsWorking with content teams in Professional Development to norm on, and improve student learningConducting weekly tutorials outside of regular class day to provide additional instruction and support to studentsCompleting supervision duties on campus that support student safety including but not limited to morning duty, lunch duty, dismissal, detention, and afterschool dutyGrowing professionally in your craft of teaching by both receive and giving feedback on a consistent basis from DOI, School Leader, Administration TeamPersisting in the face of challenges, learning from mistakes, and setting a strong example of character for your studentsBeing available by phone, email, or video conferencing to confer with campus leaders, collaborators, students, and/or parentsAdditional duties as assignedTHE PERSONWe seek staff with diverse backgrounds, talents, interests, and ideas. The starting salary for a first-year teacher is $61,000.Health and Supplemental Insurance – A $0 monthly medical option that includes $600 towards a Health Savings Account, in addition to a variety of supplemental benefits including Dental, Vision, Disability, Life, etc. Employees must work 20+ hours a week to be eligible for a full spectrum of benefits, and 10 hours a week minimum for medical benefits.Retirement Plans – Participation in Teacher Retirement System of Texas and a 457b Retirement Plan.Paid Time Off – Employees working 20+ hours a week receive 10 days of Paid Time Off in addition to the system closures during the .Paid Leave Programming – In the event you need to be out due to medical needs (including maternity and paternity leave), YES Prep offers paid leave, paid out at 100%, based on eligibility and tenure.– YES Prep recognizes and evaluates our teachers through the Teacher Pathway. Teachers can earn up to $3,000 in bonuses for top performance.– YES Prep is a Teacher Incentive Allotment (TIA) designated district.
