High School Graduate.
Medical terminology course or 1 year experience in the health field.Workplace Experience:
Perioperative CareEquipment and Skills Training:
The ability to work well under pressure, to function dependently and independently. Standard patient care equipment for services provided. Network computer system, Meditech Order Entry Computer System; AT&T Language Line.Physical Environment:
A Post Anesthesia Care Unit/Holding Area with patient population ranging from less than one year of age> ninety-nine plus years of age.Physical Effort:
- Able to communicate in English verbally and legibly.
- Able to stand/work for up to twelve hours a day.
- Able to lift with assistance up to 250 lbs.
- Able to transport patients with assistance.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
- Assists with the patient’s care, reports problems/needs, and performs interventions consistent with identified problems as directed by the nurse.
- Assist with providing emotional and psychosocial support for patient.
- Collaborates with appropriate health care team members to help coordinate the delivery of patient care in a timely manner.
- Handles/ transports medications/ solutions safely and in accordance with hospital and departmental policies and procedures.
- Provides clerical support and adequately uses the computer.
- Maintains an organized work environment and organizes unit/ maintains supplies to par levels.
- Organizes assigned task and responsibilities.
- Documents accurately and timely.
- Maintains healing and therapeutic environment for the patient and family.
- Maintains position specific qualifications.
- Facilitates staff development and assist in orientation of new employees.
- Demonstrates responsibility for assigned communications and special assignments.
- Maintains their work areas and personal appearance in a way that reflects our professionalism and demonstrates to our patients, visitors, and coworkers the importance we place on cleanliness, orderliness, and safety.
