Well-known fragrance, skincare, and cosmetics privately owned Manhattan-based company is seeking a Public Relations Director.
Global well-known fragrance, cosmetics, and skincare company is seeking a Public Relations Director who will help develop and implement the strategic vision worldwide. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Public Relations Director to join our team and elevate our brand presence in the market. In this capacity, this person will work very closely with the founder of the company. This position is critical to sustaining the growth and momentum of the brand.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and Implement PR Strategies:
- Formulate and execute comprehensive public relations strategies to enhance the company’s brand image and reputation.
- Drive campaigns that highlight key product launches, collaborations, and corporate initiatives.
- Strategize to develop programs and initiatives that will provide measurable results in achieving the brand’s global communications objectives.
- Create and execute ongoing integrated programs and launch initiatives.
Media Relations:
- Cultivate and maintain relationships with key media outlets, journalists, and influencers in the fragrance and beauty industry.
- Secure positive media coverage through press releases, product placements, and feature articles.
- Strategize new and creative ways to garner media for the company.
Brand Messaging:
- Ensure consistent and compelling brand messaging across all communication channels.
- Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to align PR efforts with overall brand strategies.
Event Management:
- Plan and execute high-profile events, product launches, and press conferences.
- Coordinate media attendance and coverage for industry trade shows and exhibitions.
Crisis Management:
- Develop and implement crisis communication plans to protect the brand’s reputation.
- Act as a spokesperson during challenging situations, providing clear and timely communication.
Internal Communication:
- Work closely with internal teams to ensure alignment between external communication and internal messaging.
- Provide media training for key executives and spokespersons.
Measure and Analyze PR Campaigns:
- Utilize metrics and analytics tools to measure the effectiveness of PR campaigns.
- Provide regular reports and insights to senior management.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field.
- Position requires 4+ years of Public Relations/Communications experience.
- Proven experience as a Public Relations Director or in a similar role within the fragrance or beauty industry.
- Strong network of media contacts in the fragrance and lifestyle sectors.
- Good managerial skills to develop and coach direct reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Crisis management experience.
- Creative thinker with a strategic mindset.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
