Quantum Optics & High-Energy Physics ConsultantThe Opportunity:What if you could use your project management skills to advance research projects for next-generation quantum, high-energy, or particle physics applications? As a quantum optics and high-energy physicist, you know the complexities of supporting a project from concept to completion. You understand the processes, challenges, and opportunities in developing novel technologies of disruptive capability. That knowledge is key when it comes to assisting the Defense Advanced Research Project Agency (DARPA) with strategic consulting on research and development (R&D) to deploy technology beyond laboratory settings. Many programs require a significant investment of limited resources, and it’s imperative to keep the project on a productive path. That’s why we need you, an experienced physicist who can help ensure success through managing tasks, meeting deadlines, and communicating effectively.On our team, you’ll implement and maintain organizational programs in support of DARPA and the Department of Defense (DoD). You will work closely with government clients to track and evaluate the progress of sponsored research, and communicate technical findings to a wide audience. You will leverage technical and programmatic expertise to support tactical planning and strategic evaluation of new concepts and assessments of technological gaps. You will be part of a team of financial, technical, and technology transition experts to support our client’s mission by coordinating actions and tasks, providing recommendations on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, doing background research, traveling to R&D facilities, and having regular interactions with DARPA decision-makers, subject matter experts, financial managers, government stakeholders, and members of the R&D community. You will work with world-class scientists and engineers to shape national security investment through the development of cutting-edge technologies. This position will require travel within the U.S., when necessary to accommodate client needs, and is based in Arlington, VA.Join us. The projected compensation range for this position is $67,700.00 to $154,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen’s total compensation package for employees.
