Job Description
We’re looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to join a prestigious company. This is a fully remote contract opportunity. In-depth knowledge and experience in solving communications challenges with intelligent, visually compelling design, coupled with experience executing design marketing projects from conception to production, including websites, brochures, and online ads, with most time spent on websites and other forms of digital media design will be required for this role. The ideal candidate must be exceedingly well organized, flexible, and enjoy the administrative challenges of supporting a team of diverse people and programs, helping ensure a spirit of teamwork while fulfilling his/her responsibilities.
Senior Graphic Designer Responsibilities:
Oversee the development and maintenance of brand guideline documents, assets, and materials to support stakeholders in using and applying the visual identity. Drive understanding and compliance with the visual identity, including answering questions and managing conversations with stakeholders across the company around VI compliance. Design original pieces, including infographics, digital content (landing pages, ads, social media), sales slicks, swag, booth design, and all visual elements of the website. Maintain university graphics, social media posts & presentation archive, and be the resource for stock imagery at the university. Day-to-day direction and implementation of designs from requested departments. Review other designers’ work to ensure high quality and those deadlines are met. Brainstorm and collaborate with the university’s marketing teams to produce compelling visual campaigns.Takes appropriate action to successfully resolve time-sensitive issues; ability to use negotiation and persuasion skills to achieve results and expedite projects.Works on special projects as assigned by the Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer and/or the Office of the President.
Senior Graphic Designer Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in graphics design, visual communication, brand design, or related field with 5-7 years of related experience. 10 years of related work experience may be substituted instead of educational qualifications. Proficient in the Adobe Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects, etc.) and Graphic Design, Web Design, UIXI design, and Print design. Microsoft PowerPoint and other presentation software. Competency, experience, and proven track record in developing visually led content and design for external audiences and a complex organization. Ability to see the bigger strategic picture and deliver ideas and innovation that provide measurable impact against a long-term vision. An art director’s eye for a striking composition; Experience with creative direction and leading projects. Initiative and creativity – an ability to think beyond the obvious and recommend visual art, imagery, and interactive design that engages audiences. Experience in defining governance, process, and front-end tech specifications for Digital Asset Management systems. Expert understanding of design and brand asset management. Experience in engaging with internal stakeholders around the brand and visual identity compliance. Up-to-date knowledge of asset copyright and associated ethical usage guidance and issues. Expert knowledge of image stock houses or other sources of affordable, commercial, rights-cleared imagery. Skilled in planning, analyzing, and coordinating activities, and establishing priorities. Keen and effective communication skills with a diverse population. Must be detailed oriented and organized. Works effectively with people from a variety of culturally diverse backgrounds .Ability to problem-solve, pivot priorities, and work under pressure, to tight deadlines .Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and experience in networking in a wide range of situations and with people at all levels within organizations. Exercises discretion and ensures a high level of confidentiality.
