Job Description
Cleveland-Cliffs is seeking a Senior IT SAP Engineer to work at one of the following offices: East Chicago, IN, West Chester, OH or Cleveland, OH. The Senior SAP Engineer will be part of a team providing technical leadership and support for the SAP business systems and participate in strategic projects as needed. The individual shall contribute to strengthening the business processes, performing both technical analysis and systems support activities. The ideal candidate will have prior manufacturing industry experience, SAP development leadership experience, be initiative-taking and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with complex operations.Summary of Responsibilities:Ensure the modules supported and their integration points with other systems and modules are aligned with the SAP road map.Understand the Cleveland Cliffs SAP landscape and architecture to better maintain the environment.Be able to provide technical guidance, review transport listings, approve any infrastructure changes, and approve installations.Ensure sustainability of the SAP processes configured in all modules.Ensure all new developments conform to standards, and ensure the standards are kept up to date.Hands on designing, specifying, configuring, and approving to move changes to production.Perform technical mapping, gap analysis, and recommend the best way to address the gaps.Write and approve detailed technical specifications for workflow, reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms (WRICEF). Ensure that the solution implemented in each phase is consistent with the overall direction and the end state.Author technical specifications at the level required for off-site ABAP or other technical development.Estimate the development effort required.Perform change reviews and promote change requests to production.Coordinate self and other technical developers along with communication and support with business users.Review and align with the IT teams to ensure accurate delivery of changes required by the business.Provide level 2 support for production systems and project implementations, as necessary.Minimum Qualifications:BS in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent7+ years of experience in technical development rolesExperience in SAP S/4 Hana 2021 or combined with older versions including ECC.SAP Development skillsExpertise in ABAP, including ABAP Objects, Smart Forms, and Adobe Forms.Proficient in SAP development tools: ABAP Workbench, ABAP Data Dictionary, and ABAP DebuggerExtensive experience in development and enhancement of custom Workflows, Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, and Forms (WRICEFs)Strong knowledge of SAP modules and integration points – FI/CO, SD, MM, QM, PP, and PP/DSSolid understanding of SAP application architecture and best practices for ABAP developmentProficient in module pool programming and object-oriented programmingFamiliar with CDS views using ADT tools along with BOPF, BRF+, and Restful APIs.Experience with ABAP Trace (SAT), PlanViz Trace for AMDPs, SQL Trace (ST05), and ABAP Trace (ST12)Preferred Qualifications:Proven systems development experience specifically within SAP ERP systems.Technical leadership skills in IT environments.Skilled in writing outbound/inbound ABAP interfaces using IDOCs, BAPIs, performance tuning, RFCs to/from Middleware (IBM ACE), and flat files.Ability to multi-task and strong time management skills.Four full cycle implementations or more (from blueprint to go-live).O365 Microsoft toolsSAP upgrade and migration experience.Experience with ITIL concepts and processes.SAP Basis and security understandingUnderstanding of SAP infrastructureExperience providing support for Sap cloud solutions like C4C, CPS and IBP.Familiarity with SAP Fiori, SAPUI5, or other SAP front-end technologiesExposure to GRC, CSI or similar softwareHANA DB or Oracle knowledge for SAP applications.Experience supporting FIORI Gateway, TM servers, and databases.Knowledge in cloud applications on BTP and the ability to build UI applications using Business Application Studio (BAS)SAP ABAP certificationCleveland-Cliffs Inc. is the largest flat-rolled steel company and the largest iron ore pellet producer in North America.
