We are looking for a public relations leader with an excitement for tech and innovation to help take Palo Alto Networks forward into our next phase of growth. Join our amazing Corporate Communications team as Senior Manager, Public Relations – Products.

With world-class writing skills and a proven track record leading tech and/or cybersecurity comms teams, you thrive on building PR strategies and campaigns that bolster reputations and bring innovation to life. Your creative ideas and strong relationships – both internally with stakeholders and externally with the media – mean your campaigns get results. Someone who thrives in a fast-paced and collaborative environment, you’re as comfortable working cross-functionally to develop impact-generating plans, campaigns and pitches and can do so in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

You are keenly aware of the critical cybersecurity moment the world is in right now. And, as cybersecurity impacts a broad range of audiences – from business to government, consumer to investor – you will have a communications background that prepares you for each. You enjoy taking technical product information and relevant current events to create compelling stories for the appropriate target audiences.

This is a full time position, based in our California HQ, helping to lead our product public relations narratives, launches and thought leadership. The role is responsible for direct reports and agency support.

Your Impact

  • Establish and execute PR strategy in conjunction with senior leadership across our product portfolio
  • Create ongoing outreach programs to strengthen and develop media and other key relationships to amplify Palo Alto Networks innovation
  • Build thought leadership and maintain messaging to support business priorities, including rolling up your sleeves and writing materials including blog posts, op-eds, and briefing docs for executives
  • Engage in regular and effective proactive media relations developing relationships with the media coverage cybersecurity, product innovation and reaching our key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with, and provide guidance to regional PR teams
  • Convey the impact of your contribution through regular sharing of metrics and results

Qualifications

Your Experience

  • 8+ years’ corporate or agency public relations experience, with a background supporting technology and/or cybersecurity companies
  • Strong understanding of the media environment, with a proven track record building media relationships and shaping stories that drive conversations
  • Experience creating thought leadership and messaging and narratives that connect problems to understanding and solutions
  • Can distill complex technology topics into digestible, relatable content – Can work with spokespeople to deliver that content through facilitated media interviews
  • Experience in high impact PR initiatives – video, podcast, events and conferences preferred
  • Experience in media monitoring, analysis and reporting
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills – Writing samples of recent press releases, bylines and/or blogs and writing test evaluation are required in this application process
  • Proven social media content experience in order to amplify and support PR initiatives and results
  • A respected manager, with experience building (and inspiring!) teams, along with the ability to build senior relationships with executives
  • Highly organized and self-motivated, with the ability to work under pressure to oversee timely, first-rate execution
  • A team player and creative thinker, with experience working with international teams
  • Must be local to SF bay area

The compensation offered for this position will depend on qualifications, experience, and work location. For candidates who receive an offer at the posted level, the starting base salary (for non-sales roles) or base salary + commission target (for sales/com-missioned roles) is expected to be between $141,600/yr to $229,150/yr. The offered compensation may also include restricted stock units and a bonus. A description of our employee benefits may be found .
