Job Description

Our hardware development team is looking for a smart, experienced, and hardworking member to participate in PCB layout and design. The ideal candidate would have 5+ years PCB Layout and testing experience. Experience with Ethernet, DDR4, SerDes and RF routing, bring-up and testing is highly desirable. Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering and combined 5 years of layout, hardware testing experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide technical guidance and layout expertise in developing new PCB designs and updating existing designs using Allegro
- Perform PCB component placements and determine detailed wire routings. Generate and check netlists. Generate BOM
- Verify designs, perform design rules and other checkings, and recommend improvements
- Participate in board bringup and testing
- Prepare design documentations, requirement specifications, and PCB models
- Follow design release processes and documentation control procedures to make sure design documents are accurate and complete. Interface with PCB manufacturers and solve DFM issues so fabrication can run smoothly
- Manage component libraries and component qualification processes
- Assist in preparation of project schedules, budget estimates, and risk assessment
- Monitor and report project status
- Propose process improvements to ensure PCB functionality, quality, and reliability
Required Skills & Experience:
- BSEE required/MS Electrical Engineering preferred
- 5 – 12 years PCB layout experience
- Basic electronics knowledge and a good understanding of electronic components and their interfaces. Ability to use test equipment such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and experience with testing is a plus
- Understanding of basic RF, high speed SerDes, DDR4, and Ethernet interface designs
- Require good PCB and schematic design software skills, desired Cadence Allegro and OrCAD
- Familiarity with Altium Designer is a plus
- Deep knowledge of PCB construction, material, components, and technologies
- Good understanding of PCB manufacturing processes required
- Familiar with all PCB design rules. Knowledge of general rules, noise reduction, EMI/EMC considerations, signal integrity, thermal performance / heat dissipation, power supply design rules
- Familiar with DFT, DFM, manufacturability and cost impacts
- Familiar with PCB manufacturing processes for HDI, Standard Thru-Hole, and Back-drilling.
- Follow and verify design rule compliance
- Familiar with fab drawing Gerber package generation and completeness checking
The salary range for this position is: $130,000 to $175,000
Compensation will be determined based on several factors including, but not limited to: skill set, years of experience and the employee’s geographic location.
