Job Description:Work Schedule:This is a full-time, FTE 1.0, 1st shift position. Hours may vary based on department needs.Be part of something remarkableUse your laboratory experience to help lead the Lab Services team at the #1 hospital in Wisconsin!We are seeking a Supervisor – Microbiology to:
- Manage employee schedules, biweekly payroll maintenance, and work in collaboration with the Manager to ensure regulatory compliance to maintain accreditation.
- Assist with the development, annual review and implementation of department policies and procedures
- Monitor laboratory activity throughout the day. Maintain visible supervision of employees and direct work flow to maximize efficiency
- Perform and documents assigned quality activities.

Education:Minimum -Bachelor’s degree in chemical physical, biological or clinical laboratory science. An associate degree and two years of relevant experience, in addition to the required work experience below, may be considered in lieu of a bachelor’s degreePreferred – Bachelor’s degree in chemical physical, biological or clinical laboratory science.Work Experience:Minimum -Three years of relevant laboratory experience.Preferred – One year experience in a leadership capacity.Licenses and Certifications:Minimum –Preferred – American Society for Clinical Pathology registered as Medical Laboratory Scientist, Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Technician, Cytotechnologist, Specialist in Cytotechnology, Histotechnician, Histotechnologist, Technologist in Blood Bank, Specialist in Blood Bank, Phlebotomist, Diplomate in Laboratory Management or certification appropriate for Clinical Lab department(s) managed.Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and InclusionUW Health is committed to being a diverse, equitable, inclusive and anti-racist workplace and is an Equal Employment Opportunity, Affirmative Action employer.
