PURPOSE:
Defines, designs, and develops system requirements. Coordinates design of subsystems and integration of total system. Analyzes and resolves program support deficiencies. Conducts independent technical investigations in systems design. Performs engineering studies and analyzes system problems in support of developing system implementation solutions.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Installs, tunes, upgrades, troubleshoots, and maintains all computer systems relevant to the supported applications including all necessary tasks to perform operating system administration, user account management, disaster recovery strategy and networking configuration.
Automates the installation and configuration of applications in development and productions environments.
Develops and implement techniques to prevent system problems, troubleshoots incidents to recover services and supports root cause analysis
Improves engineering job knowledge by attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications; establishing personal networks; benchmarking state-of-the-art practices; participating in professional societies.
Evaluates new systems by performing in-depth tests, including end-user reviews.
Researches software and related products to support recommendations and purchasing.
Determines systems integration issues by evaluating components; developing and completing performance tests; analyzing test data; studying project requirements; analyzing user and potential user input; evaluating similar and related products and systems. Develop system automation and system integration of business processes.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Position does not have direct reports but is expected to assist in guiding and mentoring less experienced staff. May lead a team of matrixed resources.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology or Computer Science OR in lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an additional 4 years of relevant work experience is required in addition to the required work experience.
Licenses/Certifications:
ITIL Foundations v3 within 180 Days Preferred.
Experience: 3 years software, hardware and/or systems engineering.
Required Software Skills:
RoboHelp 2017 and 2020, Madcap Flare, Jira, Confluence and SharePoint.
Programming skill using Java, .Net, CSS, and HTML 5.
XML documentation, O365 Word, PDF.
Java Runtime Environment (JRE).
Microsoft Visual Studio/ Team Explorer 2015 or later (Azure Dev Ops connections).
Git for Windows/Mac (Git connections) and GIT for future integration to RoboHelp 2020.
Adobe FrameMaker 2019 Update 2 or later.
Adobe Captivate.
Apache Tomcat.
Visual basic, C/C++ and java for custom dialog box used with outputs.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)
Knowledge of system engineering tools.
Knowledge of programming languages and web based technologies.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Ability to collaborate to solve technical problems across team.
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
Require complete understanding of RoboHelp server – security, hosting html5 and CSS content, gather analytics and provide reporting, manage user rights, data security, seamless self-service deployment.
Import content from multiple sources and ingest modern formats like Markdown, and legacy formats like Word and HTML5.
Write and provide CSS and Java scripts as necessary.
Configure settings to customize the appearance and capabilities of output.
Implement conditional content to show or hide content depending on the need of the user or output.
Generate or publish the output for multiple platforms, such as web, mobile, and print (Responsive HTML5, PDF, Microsoft HTML Help (CHM), Frameless, Mobile App, and more.
Produce high-quality contextual reviews to streamline live collaboration with reviewers.
Guide multiple reviewers to markup the topics at the same time.
Build the navigation with text and images are linked to other content and decide the content hierarchy or organization scheme.
Must be able to meet established deadlines and handle multiple customer service demands from internal and external customers, within set expectations for service excellence. Must be able to effectively communicate and provide positive customer service to every internal and external customer, including customers who may be demanding or otherwise challenging.
Salary Range: $73,512 – $146,003
