By partnering with enterprise-wide) teams, you’ll develop and maintain full stack solutions that fit our business needs. You’ll use your holistic view of all products (and their interactions) to design elegant solutions and strategize the future state of our larger technical ecosystem. By independently innovating and advocating for best practices, you’ll solve complex problems and guide the team on implementing solutions from inception to production.In this specific role, you will be part of a product team and will collaborate with a cross-functional team to design and develop technical solutions and review the work of their peers. The position involves supporting core financial functionality of the Card business, as well as working to break apart a monolithic, batch based system into modern, cloud-based microservicesResponsibilities:Contribute to product team deliverables using Java programming technologyDiagnose opportunities for automation and efficiency in the end to end product delivery cycleSolve complex technical problems and explore new ways to bring valueCollaborate with our business partners to understand all business requirementsAnalyze, design, program, test, and deploy new user stories and features with high quality (security, reliability, operations) to productionAchieves team commitments (and influence others to do the same) by using informal leadership & highly developed communication skillsHas an oversight on design decisions and guides team to achieve key results for products assigned to themRemediates issues using engineering principles and creates proactive design solutions for potential failuresContributes to and leads technology communities at DiscoverMinimum QualificationsAt a minimum, here’s what we need from you:Bachelors – Computer Science or related3+ Years – Information Technology, (Software) Engineering, or relatedInternal applicants only: technical proficiency rating of competent on the Dreyfus engineering scalePreferred QualificationsBonus Points If You Have:Cloud Technology – AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry, OpenShiftExtreme automation mindset as it pertains to testing and build/deploy conceptsCI/CD Pipeline experience via Jenkins, Github Actions, Chef, Ansible, NexusT echstack include Java, Spring, Kafka, Openshift, and JenkinsExternal applicants will be required to perform a technical interviewApplication Deadline: The application window for this position is anticipated to close on Mar-24-2024.
